This is beautifully written. I read it in less than 24 hours and didn’t really want it to end. It is such a privilege to be taken inside the experience of dying and death, and the author did just that. It was raw and truthful. I highly recommend this to caregivers and anyone else who takes care of the dying.

This is an incredibly poignant, beautifully written book about one woman’s journey through the loss of a beloved husband. Part memoir, part journal, part guidebook for the cancer experience and aftermath of grief, the book is a gem and well worth the read.

You will fall in love with this couple. This book is full of suspense, drama, belly laughs, and gut punches. It’s a raw look at what the end of life truly looks like and what it means for those of us left behind. At its core, this book is a love story.

Reading this book was like having a conversation with a close friend. I highly recommend it for anyone who is going through the loss of a loved one or has friends in that situation.

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll learn more than you can guess. Whether you’re in health care or counseling professions, in grief yourself, or anticipating a great loss, you’ll be glad you read Patty’s and Dave’s story. The human spirit is amazing—as is the ability of ordinary people to endure the extraordinary.

As a former home health and hospice RN, I loved this book!! All home health and hospice agencies should have this book available for the staff to read.
